Why is 121 support helpful?

We know these are strange and trying times. So we thought we’d make it even easier for you to speak with a therapist. Therapy is about taking the time to explore how you’re feeling, your relationships, your career - or whatever else is on your mind.

Spill’s qualified therapists can help you clarify your thoughts, process your feelings, or even make a plan for your future. Wisdom and an objective, external perspective can do a long way towards solving most problems.

What services are available?

Free ‘Ask a therapist’ service

You can make use of Spill's ‘Ask a Therapist’ feature for free. You can browse real advice from therapists by topic. If the topic you are interested in isn’t covered, you can submit it anonymously. A therapist will add their thoughts on the topic and this will be added to the browsable advice within two working days. This comes in the form of insight and suggestions for further steps to take. You can ask about anything: what to do about lack of motivation at work, how to improve day to day stress and what to do about problems in romantic relationships. Or you can ask about how better to support somebody in your life who is struggling.

Here are some examples of the kind of questions you can ask, and the kind of responses you can expect:

Discounted counselling sessions

You can book into a 50-minute video therapy session with one of Spill's qualified therapists by using the link at the bottom of this page. You may want to try one session which costs £45, or you can book a course of 4, 6 or 10 sessions.

A course will begin with a 25-minute consultation, which costs £20. During the consultation, you will decide with your therapist how long your course should be. Each session then costs £45 each. You pay for these as you go.

The sessions can take place over a video or phone call and you can have them within or outside working hours. You can talk about anything that's on your mind and everything you say will remain confidential between you and the therapist.

What you may want to consider in advance

Spill's therapists are trained to work in a number of ways, but they will always start by working with you, as a person. It's not a ‘one size fits all’ solution, and we offer a range of talking therapies based on your needs and situation. Our therapists may draw upon different styles, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), coaching, or psychodynamic therapy.

You can use the one-off sessions to speak about a specific problem or book into a course of therapy to cover a topic in more depth. You will be matched with the same therapist throughout, but will have the chance to change therapist if you want to.
